SaveCompare's content is produced by a small UK editorial team operating under TheMediaFlow Ltd (registered in England and Wales, company number 06769171). Our background is in UK retail energy and consumer-finance comparison — we have been running comparison sites since 2008. We do not use uncorrected generative-AI text on customer-facing pages: every comparison is fact-checked against primary sources by a human before it goes live.

Where we cite a number, that number comes from one of the following primary sources unless otherwise marked. We try to link to the exact page on each regulator's website rather than to summaries.

How we decide what's "best"
Our pages use words like "best", "cheapest" or "leading" only when we can show our reasoning. The criteria differ by vertical, but the framework is the same:
- Headline price or rate — the figure the customer will actually pay, after introductory offers and known fees.
- Total cost over the contract — for fixed-term products (energy, broadband, mortgages, balance-transfer cards), we compute the full cost over the term, not just month one.
- Contract terms — exit fees, rate-rise clauses, cooling-off periods, minimum-spend conditions.
- Customer-service signal — where Ofcom, Ofgem or Trustpilot publish comparable scores, we factor them in. We don't use unverified review scrapes.
No supplier pays for placement, and we do not accept "preferred partner" arrangements that change the order of providers on a page. If a partner is excluded from a list (for example because they are not currently open to new business), we say so on the page.
Partner relationships and how we get paid
SaveCompare is funded by referral commission from a small set of partners. Below is the full list, by vertical, as of the date stamp on this page. Where a category has no partner, we link out for information only.

Review cadence and date stamps
Every comparison page carries a "Last reviewed" date in the body. The schedule we work to:
- Energy — reviewed within seven days of any Ofgem cap announcement, and otherwise quarterly.
- Mortgages and loans — reviewed quarterly, with off-cycle updates after Bank of England base-rate decisions.
- Credit cards, broadband, mobile, insurance — reviewed quarterly.
- Guides and explainers — reviewed at least once a year, or sooner if the underlying rules change (for example a new FCA consumer-duty rule).

Corrections policy
If we publish something incorrect, we correct it on the live page and add a "Corrected on [date]" note at the foot of the page. Material errors that affected a published recommendation are also flagged at the top of the page for 30 days. We do not silently edit pages to remove mistakes.
What this site is, and isn't
SaveCompare is an information service. We are not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority and we do not provide regulated financial advice. Where you need regulated advice, the government-backed service is MoneyHelper. For energy comparison, Ofgem maintains its Confidence Code list of accredited sites.
